How Cool Is A Laptop Cooling Pad

Overheating due to longer hours of using a laptop is one of its worst enemies.  If you want your laptop to last longer even if you’re using it extensively, a cooling pad would be necessary.  An inventor named Rakesh Bhatia who patented his invention more than a decade ago originally designed the cooling pad.  His intention was to keep the laptop cool while using it on your lap or on top of your desk for longer hours.
There are two types of cooling pads, one is passive and the other is active.  The passive cooling pad is made out of materials that extract heat from the laptop.  It doesn’t require any electrical input to cool your laptop.  Some are tilted to allow air to flow freely beneath the laptop, achieving the same result, which is to keep it cool.  The active cooling pads uses fans, which are commonly electrically powered and directed towards the bottom part of the laptop.  These fans are powered through the laptop itself by using USB cables.
So what are the benefits of using a cooling pad for your laptop?  Listed below are some of the benefits of using this pad:
1.     It prevents your laptop from overheating.  This will lengthen that lifespan of your notebook.
2.     It will prevent it form locking up while you are working.  Yes your laptop may not crash outright but it may shut down from time to time due to overheating.
3.     Your files are safer when you have a cooling pad.  Overheating as discussed can crash your computer that can damage your file.  When you laptop shuts down unexpectedly, files can be lost as well.
4.     You will not worry about your legs getting warmer while using your laptop over your lap.  This unwanted heat may cause you skin irritation if done regularly.
5.     It is more stable to use a cooling rather than using your lap as a stand.  This will prevent your laptop from falling and crashing.
Don’t take it lightly.  Be proactive.  Buy your cooling pad now and start enjoying its benefits.  PIMFG also offers high quality and durable fiber optic cables online.

Benefits Of Using A Surge Protector

In today’s era of technology and electronic devices, a surge protector is a must.  A survey was conducted by North American Technographics Benchmark Survey conducted last 2010 (Q2) and it showed that 82% of the survey’s base has a computer.  This survey shows how computers have become a necessity for every household in the US.
If computers are undeniably considered as a necessity to a household, therefore it is imperative to protect the computer.  Whether it is a desktop, an expensive MacBook or any branded laptop, a surge protector should always be used to protect an investment like this equipment.  A direct hit from lightning or a sudden fluctuation on electricity may hurt or even damage the components of a computer or any electronic device you might have at home unless you are using fiber optic cables which are immune to power surges. So what are the benefits of using a surge protector?  Listed below are some of the benefits of using a surge protector especially to your computer.
1.     Hardware Protection – Power surges or sudden spikes can damage your computer hardware.  Surge protectors use fuse to cut the connection between the outlet and the computer.  This will protect the computer when a sudden increase of voltage occurs which may hurt or damage the computer.
2.     Data Loss – Loss of data may occur when a computer is not properly turned off.  Power surges causes computers to shut off and this may affect any unsaved work or data.  Surge protector gives the user few minutes of working time even if there is a power surge.  It comes with a back up battery that will allow the user to save the data before shutting it down.
3.     Longer Life span – A Computer is a valuable commodity in a household and anything that would lengthen its lifespan is good for the computer and the user.  Some surge protectors have this feature wherein it filters any inaccurate voltage going to the computer.
4.     Extra Outlets – surge protectors comes in with multiple outlets.  It uses only one wall outlet but it will let the user plug in more than one equipment.
Today’s computers, home appliances and entertainment systems are made up of microchips that are highly sensitive to fluctuation of the supply of electricity.  A surge protector is not just an additional outlet provider but it is a must have.  Go and buy the best surge protector that  your money can buy.

PIMFG Promotes Fiber Optics Proficiencies

A fiber optic cable is a network cable that contains strands of glass fibers inside an insulated casing. These cables are designed for long distance and very high bandwidth network communications. Fiber optic cables carry communication signals using pulses of light. While expensive, these cables are increasingly being used instead of traditional copper cables, because fiber offers more capacity and is less susceptible to electrical interference. So-called Fiber to the Home (FTTH) installations are becoming more common as a way to bring ultra high speed Internet service (100 Mbps and higher) to residences.
Recently, the Sparta Independent, an online news provider, published a feature article on one of the non-profit organizations of Larimer County—Project Self-Sufficiency. According to the article, Project Self-Sufficiency will offer a 40-hour training program to qualified candidates who wish to become Certified Fiber Optics Technicians, Sept. 17 to 28, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Interested participants are invited to attend Open Houses about the Fiber Optics Technician Certification Program on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. or Friday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. Students will learn theory and receive hands-on training covering the basics of fiber optics, the different types of fiber and cables, information transmission and fiber optic LAN, sources of light loss in fiber, specifications for fiber optic cable, types of connectors, and more. Training will be provided by a representative from Educational Resources, Inc., a company which specializes in workplace training in the fields of customer service, sales and various technical fields including fiber optics.
Talking about the program, Charles Wortmann, President of Educational Resources, Inc. said that, “This is a program that introduces people to the world of fiber which is all around us and is an important technology which will continue to grow as the economy recovers. The Department of Labor has recognized this as a growing area for our economy. More and more fiber is being placed into homes and office buildings, because fiber offers high-speed access to data and telecommunication. Certification as a fiber optics technician demonstrates that a candidate has value to a company. When these people do get jobs as fiber optics technicians, they are good-paying jobs.”
PIMFG is one of the leaders in manufacturing, importing, and distributing fiber optic cables in the United States of America.

The Benefit Of Outdoor Antennas In The Operations Of National Parks

PIMFG, the leading manufacturer of fiber optic cables, presents a networking solution that is recommendable for all National Parks (and other outdoor operations facilities). Our 2.4GHz 802.11b/g Outdoor Antenna with Access Point, Bridge, Repeater, Client Mode, 12dBi is the ideal solution for National Park operations. The device creates a network bridge from central quarters to remote buildings. With thorough testing, it was determined that data is sent at a frequency of 2.4 GHz and travels distances of 2 miles for optimal connection. It is weatherproof and waterproof. Also, all of the connections are secured through casings that will prevent any infiltration of debris or water.
According to the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) Report to Congressional Requesters on the subject of “Major Operations Funding Trends and How Selected Park Units Responded to Those Trends”, National Park Operations budget allocations have provisions for seven regional offices and the headquarters office as well as field resource centers, and other external administrative costs such as telecommunications.
A single National Park already occupies a vast track of land and territory. Maintaining this obviously requires effective networking communication systems among a central headquarter and possibly several remote centers spread across the park area.  The outdoor antennas engineered and manufactured by PIMG (the leading manufacturer of fiber optic cables) effectively and efficiently match this operational requirement, especially because they are weatherproof and waterproof and have a two-mile range even on open sites. Furthermore, the particular device mentioned in this article is WPA and WEP supported with a 64-bit / 128-bit / 152bit WEP encryption. It has Wi-Fi Protected access (WPA) and WPA PSK support

How To Install In Wall Speakers For Your Home Theater System

In today’s world of innovations, in wall speakers can already compete with those bulky floor-standing speakers.  These elegant and clutter free speakers are starting to take a piece of the pie in the audio market.
These mounted speakers are predominantly used for home theater systems.  One reason why this has become such a huge hit to home theater enthusiasts is due to its stylish look, discreet and clutter free surround sound solution.  In line with home theater system, cable TV providers now use fiber optic cables.  This means more channels, clearer signal and quality audio for the end user.
Going back to mounting your in wall speakers, it may sound easy but without a proper guide, you might end up putting a hole on your wall without anything on it.  Follow this step-by-step guide on how you can mount your own in wall speakers for your home theater system.
  1.     Determine where to install your speakers.  It is vital that you check its location.  This will prevent you from having a distorted sound due to interference and bouncing or reflected sound.  The size of your home theater room will also determine how many in wall speakers you should use to enjoy quality audio.
2.     Plan out how you would like to install and run your speaker wires.  There are two options, if your walls are not yet constructed your life will be easier since you don’t have to think how you can run the wires behind those walls.  Option number one is to run your wires behind the walls.  You can use a fish tape to help you in running the wires.  Option number two is to use a Tape wrie that you can use outside the wall and just run it along the floor and the wall.
3.     Once you decide where to install the speakers, make sure that the spot doesn’t have any studs or any electrical that you might possibly hit when creating the hole.  Use a stud finder.  It is ideal to install an in wall speaker in between studs with at least 1 to 2 inches clearance or free space for mounting.  Check you speaker’s manual for accurate spacing.
4.     Sketch and cut out.  Your new speakers would usually have a sketch that you can use as a guide for cutting that hole.  Make sure that you follow the guide to avoid extra hole in the wall.  You can use a level to ensure that the top part of the guide is leveled and the sides are perpendicular.
5.     Pull the wires that you’ve installed before placing the speakers into the hole.  Connect the wires to the input jacks of the speaker.  Check your manual for accurate wiring.
6.     Slide the speaker into the hole and try to level it again before tightening.  Tighten the screws evenly.  Don’t over tighten for it may crack your speaker’s plastic case.
7.    Put the grill on to the speaker to cover and test the audio.
If you are not confident that you cannot do this on your own, you might want to ask a professional to do it for you.  A quality speaker will give you a quality audio.  Enjoy your new in wall speaker with your family and friends.

PIMFG also offers fiber optic cables for your other requirements.
